The 2013AjPHAYouthWorld Cham-pionship Show returns June 29–July 6 in Fort Worth, Texas, but with a twist. This year’sYouthWorld Show takes place in conjunction with theApHC National Show andWorld ChampionshipAppa-loosaYouth Show. At the upcoming show, qualifed exhibitors will experi-ence a larger competition with fun events that are open to registered Paint andAppaloosa Horses.
BothAPHA andApHCYouth are encouraged to participate in special activities and events, including Freestyle Shankless Showmanship and Ride-A-Buck BarebackWestern Equitation. Returning to the show are the Boot Scramble,Youth Boot Camp (June 28), Championship Dog Races,Youth Team Tournament and more.
Two events of special interest are the Youth Versatility Challenge and the Challenged Riders’ Lead Line.
The Youth Versatility Challenge features a fery “battle of the breeds.” Participants on Paints or Appaloosas will compete in different events and switch from one event to another during timed tack changes, with the help of their personal team assistants. The Challenged Riders’ Lead Line is designed for riders with disabilities and is open to participants of all ages—exhibitors can ride Western or English.
The Hopes & Dreams classes are returning as sweepstakes events in both barrel racing and pole bending, and are an opportunity to win extra cash.
