Golden Memories

When our family received our copy of the Paint Horse Connection in the mail, we were delightfully surprised to see the chapter written about W.L. Miller in it. It was a fantastically written piece by Duke Neff, and we are so glad that others could get a taste of what the book,

Fifty Years: A Golden Beginning , has within from cover to cover.

Even after all these years (14 since his passing), we are so thankful that his contributions, as well as many others, have been preserved in writing. Our family is very grateful for the opportunity that you gave us for coming to Fort Worth, Texas, in October to see the offce and par-ticipate in the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It is our hope that many others who made signifcant contributions might also delight in being inducted for years to come. Thank you again and please continue to publish addi-tional stories so that other members can gain insight and knowledge of what others have done to make the present where it is today.  Sincerely,

Matt & Cassie Winters Jim & Marilyn Miller Spring Valley Ranch Volga, Iowa

Happy Birthday!

Paint Horses love birthday parties too! “Cody” (War Sugar Cody Shaker) celebrated his frst birthday May 13, 2012. He had a “carrot” cake with his picture on it, and received lots of treats and wonderful presents. What a way to celebrating being 1!

My First Paint

I had never owned a Paint Horse, and I had never thought about getting one. We had a Quarter Horse mare who had cancer in her eye. We gave her away to the vet and he bred her to a Paint Horse. We went back to the vet to take my dog in, and he asked us if we wanted her back. So we got her back and she had her baby. Ever since then I have always loved Paint Horses. It was weird because that morning he was born I was really sick. I had to go to the doctor and did not get to see him right away, but when I got back he was running and jumping around. Here is a picture of me and my baby colt, Skippa Windchester, at the Routt County Fair.
